1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how SpeechMe uses cookies and similar technologies when you use our application at app.speechme.app. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and GDPR Policy. SpeechMe is operated by Eric Deaville trading as Apps n SaaS.

We use the term "cookies" throughout this policy to cover cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, and similar browser technologies.

2. What cookies we use

2.1 Strictly necessary (no consent required)

These are essential for the app to function and cannot be disabled without breaking the service:

2.2 Functional

These enhance your experience but are not strictly essential:

2.3 Third-party

3. No advertising or third-party analytics cookies

SpeechMe does not use advertising or retargeting cookies, social media tracking pixels, third-party analytics platforms (such as Google Analytics or Mixpanel), or cross-site tracking of any kind. We do not share data with advertising networks.

SpeechMe does use limited first-party, anonymous campaign-attribution measurement when a visitor opens a URL containing UTM parameters. After the page has remained visible in the browser, it sends only the UTM source, medium, campaign, content and term values for aggregate reporting. It does not set an analytics cookie, create a visitor identifier, or record the landing page, IP address, referrer, device, browser or browsing history.

If this changes, we will update this policy and obtain any consent required before additional technologies are used.

4. Cookie consent

Under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. As SpeechMe only uses strictly necessary and functional cookies, with no advertising or cross-site tracking, we do not display a cookie consent banner within the application. The anonymous UTM measurement described above does not set a cookie or persistent browser storage. Cloudflare Turnstile falls under the strictly necessary exemption.

5. Data stored locally

The following data is stored in your browser's localStorage rather than transmitted as traditional cookies. It remains on your device and is only sent to our servers as part of authenticated API requests:

6. Managing cookies

Since SpeechMe primarily uses strictly necessary cookies and localStorage, disabling them may prevent the app from functioning correctly. However, you can manage them as follows:

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our use of cookies or applicable regulations. The effective date at the top indicates the latest revision.
