1. Overview
This Refunds Policy applies to all purchases made through the SpeechMe application at app.speechme.app. SpeechMe is operated by Eric Deaville trading as Apps n SaaS. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. By making a purchase, you agree to the terms set out in this policy.
2. Merchant of record
Paddle is the Merchant of Record for SpeechMe. All billing, payment processing, refund handling, and VAT compliance is managed by Paddle on our behalf. Refund requests are ultimately processed through Paddle's systems.
3. Digital product nature
SpeechMe provides AI-generated speech content, which is a digital product delivered immediately upon generation. Once a speech has been generated and delivered to you, the service has been fully performed.
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (UK), by requesting immediate generation of your speech, you consent to losing your right to a 14-day cooling-off period once the digital content has been supplied. This is disclosed clearly at the point of payment.
4. When you are eligible for a refund
You may be eligible for a full refund in the following circumstances:
- Technical failure — The AI generation process failed completely and no speech content was delivered to your account.
- Payment error — You were charged incorrectly, charged twice, or charged an amount different from the displayed price.
- Service unavailability — You paid but were unable to access the generated speech due to a platform error within 48 hours of purchase.
5. When refunds are not available
Refunds will not generally be issued where:
- The speech was successfully generated and delivered but you are dissatisfied with the content, tone, or style
- You provided incorrect, incomplete, or misleading input information that affected the output quality
- You changed your mind after the speech was generated
- The speech occasion has already taken place
- You did not use the editing, Punch-up, and Humaniser tools available to refine the speech before use
We encourage all users to review their generated speech and use the built-in tools to make adjustments before delivering it.
6. Pricing tiers
SpeechMe offers speeches at three pricing tiers based on occasion type: £7 (Quick Moment), £15 (Meaningful Speech), and £22 (Centrepiece Speech). The tier and price are clearly displayed before purchase. Refunds are based on the amount actually paid.
7. How to request a refund
Contact us at support@appsnsaas.com within 14 days of your purchase date, including:
- The email address used at checkout
- Your Paddle transaction or order reference (found in your payment confirmation email)
- The date of purchase
- A description of the issue
We aim to respond to all refund requests within 5 business days.
8. Refund processing
Approved refunds are processed by Paddle and returned to the original payment method. Processing times depend on your payment provider but typically take 5–10 business days. Upon refund, access to the associated speech content may be revoked.
9. Partial refunds
In exceptional circumstances, we may offer a partial refund or a credit toward a future speech purchase at our discretion. This may apply where the service was partially delivered or where there were mitigating technical issues.
10. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer protection law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
