1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SpeechMe application ("App", "Service"), operated by Eric Deaville trading as Apps n SaaS ("we", "us", "our"). The App is a progressive web application (PWA) that helps users create, edit, rehearse, and deliver speeches for personal occasions.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent before using the Service.
3. Account registration
You may create an account using email-based authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account at support@appsnsaas.com.
4. The service
SpeechMe provides AI-assisted speech generation for personal occasions including weddings, birthdays, tributes, and professional events. The Service includes:
- AI-powered speech writing based on your inputs
- Speech editing and refinement tools including a five-pass process (Outline, Draft, Punch-up, Humaniser, Delivery)
- Text-to-speech audio preview and rehearsal
- Teleprompter mode for speech delivery
- PDF and text export of your speech
- Offline access via PWA installation
Speech content is generated using third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude). You acknowledge that AI-generated content may require your review and editing before use.
5. Payments and pricing
Certain features of the Service require a one-time payment processed through Paddle (our merchant of record). Paddle handles all payment processing, VAT and tax collection, invoicing, and refunds on our behalf.
Prices are displayed in GBP (£) inclusive of applicable taxes. The price shown at the point of purchase is the price you pay. Current pricing tiers are £7, £15, and £22 depending on speech type. By completing a purchase, you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
6. AI consent and data processing
Before generating a speech, you will be asked to provide explicit consent for your speech inputs to be sent to Anthropic's AI service. This consent is recorded and versioned. We process your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You may request deletion of your data at any time via the Account settings page or by contacting support@appsnsaas.com.
7. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of all content you provide as input to the Service — your personal stories, names, details, and so on.
The AI-generated speech output is provided to you for your personal, non-commercial use. You may use, modify, and deliver the generated speech freely for personal occasions.
The SpeechMe brand, logo, design, and underlying technology remain our exclusive intellectual property.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to generate harmful, defamatory, or discriminatory content
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit AI-generated speeches without our written consent
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Use automated tools or bots to access the Service
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation
9. Refunds
Our full refund policy is set out at speechme.app/refunds.html. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you are unsatisfied with a generated speech, please contact us within 14 days of purchase at support@appsnsaas.com.
10. Service availability
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. The App includes offline capabilities via PWA technology, but speech generation, audio playback, and payment features require an internet connection. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time via the Account settings page, which will permanently remove your data. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the App or email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
